   After learning my trade from a family member and working as an apprentice, I started my own business and created Abracadabra Upholstery Studio in 1999.  I work exclusively in Orange County, NY.  At Abracadabra Upholstery Studio, I offer complete upholstering services of all furniture, new as well as antiques. 

  I believe in repurposing of the furniture. Our homes are filled with mass produced and inexpensively made generic items that can be delivered to our doorstep the next day. There is something very special and unique in having a piece of furniture from bygone era reupholstered by a qualified artisan with best available quality materials, specifically just for you, for many long years of enjoyment.

   Loving what I do I constantly work on improving my upholstering skills.  I'm a member of the newly formed National Upholstery Association for professional upholsterers because networking, supporting each other and exchanging ideas is very imortant in our trade.  Whenever possible I also attend upholstery classes.  In August of 2019 I took part in a traditional upholstery workshop tutored by renowned master upholsterers from England and France, who are the best in the art of traditional upholstery worldwide.  I love working with antique and vintage furniture and it's truly fascinating to learn their history and the way furniture was upholstered hundreds of years ago!  Each piece is unique and holds many surprises!

  After approving my estimate, going thru the details, securing a deposit and scheduling the work date, it will be time to search for the fabric.  You can do it on your own or, in order to make the process easier,  you can view the big selection of fabric sample books from Greenhouse Fabrics, Revolution Upholstery Fabrics and Charlotte Fabrics that I have in my studio.  You are welcome to stop by, take a look at them and find a material that will suit your furniture.
